Description
This is the boiler that was originally installed in the S/L Livingstone, one of two boats used in shooting the famous 1951 movie (the boat plying the Congo River).
However, Charlie Allnutt may never have fueled it. The original steam engine was so temperamental that the movie crew replaced it with a small, highly muffled diesel, disguised with this boiler and steam-type plumbing.
Last I knew, the African Queen takes tourists on rides out of Fort Lauderdale, FL
Incidentally, the boat used for the Nile River portion of the filming was a replica of the Livingstone, built by the production crew.
