Artist's Description
The PPI (Plan Position Indicator) is the most used radar display. It is a polar coordinate display of the area surrounding the radar. The radar's position is in the center of the scope. The PPI uses a radial sweep rotating about the center of the screen. The sweep rotates on the display along with the radar antenna. A long-persistence screen lets targets remain visible until the next sweep.
